Hello Southside Families! We have some important announcements to help make the first few weeks of school run smoothly and help keep our families safe!
Beginning Monday, August 14th, 2017, the Webber Street Parking Lot and Bus Loop in front of the historic building are CLOSED daily to parents and visitors between 7:45am-8:45am and from 2:30pm-3:45pm. Parent and Visitor parking is permitted in both spaces daily between the hours of 8:45am-2:30pm and after 3:45pm.
We recommend parents and visitors park on the side streets both east and west of Tamiami Trail and walk your child to school. - Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Jogathon such a success. It was truly a great day! The kids had a blast with the color-run and ran their hearts out. The weather was great, everyone was had fun and we had tons of volunteers. It was such a success that we can now confirm Summer 2017 plans to install much-needed new astroturf for Coach K's classroom!
Please join us at the next PTO meeting on March 29 at 8:30am in the cafeteria.
The 2016-2017 yearbook is currently on sale for $25.00! Yearbooks can be ordered online www.entourageyearbooks.com, or by submitting an order form (available in the front office). You can also show your support for your favorite student, club or business by placing an ad in the yearbook. The ads can also be purchased online at www.entourageyearbooks.com.

Welcome back! Hopefully everyone is feeling rejuvenated after a wonderful Winter Break. The PTO has hit the ground running in 2017. In just one month, the PTO will host Southside's 1st Annual COLOR RUN JOG-A-Thon. This is Southside PTO's largest fundraising event of the year and we have a fundraising goal of $50,000! The money raised will go towards replacing our playground's 15 year old astroturf.
New astroturf will cost approximately $70,000 and our goal is to have it installed Summer 2017. You read that right....Summer 2017!! Because of last year's successful Jog-A-Thon, the PTO has set aside funds to pay for half of the new astroturf. So this year's Jog-A-Thon is crucial to replacing the playground's astroturf. We're almost there!

As usual, there are a ton of fun and exciting things happening at Southside. This coming week is our annual Holiday House. If you only volunteer for one thing this year..this should be the thing! This students are so filled with the spirit of giving and LOVE being able to surprise their loved ones with a special gift they have chosen. Huge Congrats to the Southside Green Team on their first Farm to Fork Dinner. It was a huge success! The participation by Southside's Student Council made everyone's night. Thank you to all who attended and volunteered! It is because of all of you that Southside is able to host such incredible events.
Thank you also to the dedicated volunteers who are helping with our salad bar. As you may know, the salad bar is now on Tuesdays & Thursdays for all grades. BUT - if we don't have volunteers for those days, we will no longer have our salad bar. Please consider volunteering by clicking "salad bar sign-up" on the right side of this page, or by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Have you ever wrapped gifts at Holiday House? It is super fun and the students love the opportunity to come to the stage and select a gift for a loved one. Click the link to the right labeled "Holiday House Sign-up" to choose a shift or two that works for you.
The Fall Fundraiser items will be ready to distribute on November 30th. This is especially important for those who ordered cookie dough: please come and pick it up in the cafeteria on the 30th from 4:30pm-6:30pm. Because it is perishable, unclaimed cookie dough will be donated.
