UNIFORM CLOSET
A program to reuse and recycle pre-loved uniforms. Donations are collected, organized and distributed all year! PTO offers a designated day before the school year begins for anyone to look thru and pick these gently worn uniforms. After that, uniforms are available upon request for the remainder of the year.

GREEN TEAM
This program organizes the planting, maintaining and harvesting of Southside’s garden. Thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers our entire school is enriched educationally thru this platform. The Garden is used as a tool for teachers and volunteer parents to create experiential learning in and out of the classroom from the plants and vegetables these classrooms grow.

READING PARTNERS
Our Reading Partner program provides k-2nd grade students one on one time to improve their reading skills, comprehension, vocabulary and confidence. Parents or community members volunteers meet with the same student for 30-40 minutes once a week all year.

FATHERS BEING INVOLVED (FBI)
Our dedicated male volunteers lend a helping hand. Whether grilling out during an event, helping out in the garden, building something around campus or volunteering for special events, we value all our male role models.

SNOWFLAKE WALL
In the spirit of giving! The Southside PTO partners with our school administrators to identify and help Southside families that may need an extra hand over the holiday season. All donors and recipients remain completely anonymous.

HOLIDAY HOUSE
A Southside tradition! Our team of holiday funner uppers transform our multi-use Room into a week long holiday shopping store! EVERY student will get to choose gift items for those special loved ones on their list without having to pay- thanks to our suggested donation model. They will even have their new treasures wrapped by one of our many volunteers.

TEACHER APPRECIATION
We love our teachers and staff at Southside! Our dedicated volunteers pick up and serve a monthly lunch for different staff/teacher groups and plan a very special week in the end of the year to spoil those that take such good care of our kiddos!

Go Gold!
Through change drives and community events, Southside proudly raises funds and awareness to support pediatric cancer research in honor of all children bravely fighting cancer.

BOOK FAIR
Every fall and spring, Southside holds a week-long book fair to inspire a love of reading among students. The initiative also supports the media center and classroom libraries.

SOUTHSIDE SUPPORTERS
All Year This program facilitating partnerships with local families and businesses to help offset costs generated by school wide events. A great way to promote your business! *Southside Supporter status from Silver and above will receive a C.A.R.E. sponsored classroom.

JOG-A-THON
An exciting annual Southside Fundraising event for students and their cheering fans as they jog around playground. Students raise funds and participate in special challenges leading up to the event.

C.A.R.E. CLASSROOM SPONSORS
A partnership between families and local businesses to sponsor classrooms. Funds provided to classrooms as part of the program cover supplies and special project costs.

A fun, hands-on event where boys team up with their mom or another special woman in their life for games, activities, and memory-making fun!

FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE
This a a fun evening for girls and their father figures to dance the night away with friends.

VARIETY SHOW
This event showcases our students’ many talents… and we have a lot of talent at Southside! An open call for auditions will be made and selected students will perform in a one-night show.

FARM TO FORK
An evening of culinary greatness brought to you by our very own green team. Students plant, grow, and harvest delicious veggies that will be prepared into a savory dinner and served by students.

STEAM NIGHT
An evening of hands-on science, math and engineering activities that allows students and parents to explore together in a fun way.

SPIRIT DAY
Students celebrate their school pride by participating in old fashioned lawn games.

5TH GRADE GRADUATION
Our volunteers make sure our Graduating fifth graders have a send off to remember! We want them to know how much they will be missed.
