About Jog-a-Thon

The Southside Elementary Jog-A-Thon is our largest fundraising event of the year, proudly organized by our dedicated PTO volunteers and taking place on March 6. This year, our primary fundraising focus is refreshing the Media Center by purchasing new books, ensuring students have access to engaging, up-to-date stories that spark imagination and a love of reading. Funds raised also allow the PTO to support a wide range of academic and enrichment programs, including math and literacy initiatives, technology support, the student garden, and Reading Partners.
 

Our goal is to raise $175,000+, with funds raised primarily by students, their families, and teachers through peer-to-peer fundraising on MyBooster.com. Banner sponsorships and donated services and products that are used for student incentive giveaways also support the initiative. This high-energy event brings our school community together to support and strengthen Southside in meaningful ways.
 

This year’s Jog-A-Thon features a Harry Potter theme, inspired by one of our students’ favorite book series and our shared love of reading. With every lap run, Southside students help unlock magical new books, open doors to new worlds, and prove that a little movement can create a lot of reading magic.

Families involvement is vital in the success of Southside’s Jog-A-Thon! We encourage all families to register their student on MyBooster.com, where students can easily ask friends and family to support Southside Elementary through secure online donations. Every contribution—big or small—helps fund books for our Media Center and supports important academic and enrichment programs throughout the school. Registering is quick, sharing is easy, and together we can help our students run toward a stronger, more vibrant Southside community

The weeks leading up to Jog-a-Thon are full of exciting activities. Learn more about our goals and the activities planned along the way.

Prizes and Challenges: Leading up to Jog-a-Thon, students, and in some cases each grade level, will have opportunities to earn prizes through fundraising and school-wide challenges.

T-Shirt Design Competition: Each grade’s Jog-a-Thon shirt will showcase original artwork created by a student from that grade. Submit your t-shirt design by February 9 to be considered.

Become a Banner Sponsor

Banner Sponsors ($250) are important supporters of Southside's Jog-a-Thon. As a Banner Sponsor, your 4' x 6' company banner will be displayed on the school fence facing Osprey Avenue or Webber Street from February 27 - April 17, 2026.

To become a sponsor, register online or by completing a sponsorship form and submitting check payment. 

 

Sponsors are responsible for designing and printing their banners. Signs2Go Inc. provides special pricing to our sponsors -- $94 for a reusable mesh vinyl banner. To order a printed banner to display, please contact Jerry Burnett at (941) 355-0020 or email your design to: sales@signs2goinc.com and mention it is for “Southside Jog-a-Thon" to get the discounted price of $94. The turn-around for creating a banner is about 1-week. Jog-a-Thon volunteers will pick up your banner.
