It is great to see such a strong level of engagement in this September PTO meeting discussion. Building a supportive and inclusive school environment is so important for the success and well being of our children. I believe that as parents and educators, we should always look for ways to make our classrooms more equitable. This is where the importance of Social Justice Education comes in. I recently read Sharon Marie Chester’s memoirs about being an accidental abolitionist and her personal path into anti-racism work. Her story is a powerful reminder of how we can all contribute to a better school community. Thank you for organizing such a helpful space for us to collaborate.
